03 - Pour the hot water over the hojicha leaves or tea bag.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You get that coffee shop experience without the coffee jitters or afternoon crash
  • The roasty, nutty flavor profile is incredibly comforting but surprisingly refreshing
  • Takes literally minutes to make but feels like a special treat every single time
02 -
  • Using boiling water directly can make hojicha bitter, so that brief cooling period makes all the difference
  • The leaves can actually be resteeped once if you want a second, slightly lighter cup
03 -
  • Warm your mug first with hot water so your tea stays hotter longer
  • Store hojicha in an airtight container away from light to maintain that fresh roasted flavor
